Cautions when using air cylinders in lifting operations

Today, based on a recent case study that occurred in "Cautions when using air cylinders in lifting operationsI would like to share something about the

lift up

Lifting motion with air cylinder

Air cylinders are often used for lifting operations. When lifting, the weight of the object to be lifted and the speed at which it is lifted may be taken into consideration when determining the size of the air cylinder. As for the speed, the average speed is adjusted by the speed controller, so we are finally on schedule!

I feel that there is not much to say about that.

Minimum Operating Pressure

When air cylinders are used, the pressure may be adjusted on site, especiallyOn the design side, check the output against the "working pressure" to design. The following isThis is just my basic design method (concept),

  • Peripheral structure: Assuming an operating pressure of 0.5 MPa, the structure is capable of withstanding a load of at least twice the output due to that pressure.
  • Output (thrust): Air cylinder size that satisfies the required capacity even when supplied at 0.3 MPa

It is like that.

Still, there are times when the movement is not good at the end of the line.

To use the air cylinder, both on the outgoing and the returning side, if you want to push it.Leisurely strokes and pushing motionto the "I" in the following paragraphs.

This is the state in which the piston inside the air cylinder presses down on the object precisely with air pressure.Conversely, the return side often does not press against the object, and the moment the rod exits the return end, it operates normally because it only needs its own rod to exit. However,If the lifting motion always lifts a heavy object, the cylinder does not come out well if the weight is already applied at the return end.It will be.

This is due to the fact that the supplied air is not pushing out the entire surface of the piston. (The receiving area at the time of ejection is slightly different.)

Therefore, while lifting, an accurate thrust force can be assumed, but when pushing up from the end, it is necessary to consider the "initial force" and prepare a slightly larger air cylinder or use a spacer to prevent the inside of the cylinder from returning when the cylinder returns.

The latter might be better.

It may be pushed too hard, or it may cause other problems,In this case, the idea would be something like "to design a system that can optimally demonstrate the required capabilities.

There are DR's about it.

Even if the design takes the above things into account, they may be omitted in the DR.

That's because you can't figure it out until you try it,It was omitted in the DR, but later suchDesign the system to allow for modifications to occur.I think it is best to
