JIS standards

Standard: JIS G 3454

Carbon steel pipes for high-pressure piping (STS370/STS410/STS480)is different fromNote that Carbon steel pipes for high-pressure piping are specified in JIS G 3455. For reference, pressure piping is schedule 10 to 80, and high-pressure piping is schedule 40 to 160.

Types and Usage

The two types are STPG370 and STPG410.

STPG370 (piping for transporting water, oil, gas, etc.)

Generally used for medium- and high-pressure piping. It is relatively flexible and has good workability (weldability), etc. Tensile strength is 370 N/mm^2 or higher.

STPG410 (high-pressure piping for high-pressure steam, petroleum, chemical industry, etc.)

Suitable for high-pressure piping and has higher strength than STPG370. Good weldability, but a little more difficult than STPG370. Tensile strength is 410 N/mm^2 or higher.
