What is the difference between "SUP", "EXH", and "OUT" in air-driven equipment catalogs and what do they mean?

April 7, 2017

Today, I would like to make a note on the difference between "SUP", "EXH" and "OUT" in the catalogs of air-driven equipment and their meanings. In the design process I went through this time, there was a situation where an electro-pneumatic regulator was used, and I would like to make a note of the difference between "SUP", "EXH" and "OUT" that I saw in the catalog.

The meaning of "SUP" and "EXH" and "OUT

Do you know what "SUP", "EXH" and "OUT" mean in the catalogs of electro-pneumatic regulators and other products? I think I can somewhat understand the meaning and usage by looking at the atmosphere and the structure...but I wanted some proof just in case, so I looked it up.

However, I could not find any evidence for it in catalogs, etc., whether I was looking for it the wrong way or not.... I couldn't find it in the terminology either.... I am at a loss.

SUP is "supply

As for SUP, isn't it SUPPLY? and it was on the web. So.JIS standard: B0142 "Standard name: Hydraulic and pneumatic systems and equipment - TerminologyI have looked into the following. Unfortunately, however, in JISB0142,No terms were registered for SUPPLY, of which SUP would be an abbreviation.

But in similar terms.

Supply flow rate

Supply pressure

I think SUP is the correct abbreviation for Supply, since the word "SUP" was registered.

OUT stands for "outlet.

The air from OUT goes into the equipment.

EXH is "EXHAUST (exhaust)

The most difficult part was the difference between KoOUT and EXH.EXH said that Yahoo wisdom says EXH = EXHALANT.

But... it's not quite clear, so here's another one.JIS standard: B0142 "Standard name: Hydraulic and pneumatic systems and equipment - TerminologyI checked it out at There is aThe exhaust was EXHAUST. Exhaust is a word that describes the flow of gases into the atmosphere.

There was no "EXHALANT" there, so I think the correct name for EXH is definitely exhaust. By the way.The electro-pneumatic regulator will have a silencer on the EXH side, and I think it will be perfect in terms of exhaust.

That's it.
