Today, we are going to discuss the "Strength Comparison Table for Aluminum Alloy Castings and Reference for General Casting MaterialsHere is a note about "The

About Aluminum Alloy Castings

In mechanical design, it is often the case that a part of the product is made of aluminum alloy casting. What confuses beginners in casting is that different manufacturers use the same type of casting but have different descriptions of strength, etc.I think it is.

I also wonder why...? And every timeWhile thinking about it, what I consider in design is designing with data in accordance with JIS standards.I think the reason for the difference in the contents described by each manufacturer is that the JIS standard values are not the same because of the difference in manufacturing techniques and the fact that each manufacturer takes its own test data.

This is not limited to castings. For example, even if an item follows the A5052 standard, if it is a product of an iron manufacturer, its strength and characteristics will be slightly different. However, everyone designs strength and other values in accordance with JIS, don't they? Of course, castings must also be designed with material values in accordance with JIS at the base design stage.

As a designer, what do you care about? That is to say.

AC4A, AC4C, and AC4H are common among aluminum alloy castings (for reference)

Even looking at JIS standards, there are a wide variety of casting materials. Not only for castings, but also for other materials, it is difficult to decide what is actually good and how good it is. Sometimes, the distributability is the priority. Therefore, before looking at the strength comparison table, let us introduce some commonly used materials for aluminum alloy castings.

AC4A, AC4C, and AC4H are commonly used materials for aluminum alloy castings in general. AC4A, AC4C, and AC4CH are Al-Si-Mg series aluminum alloys with excellent mechanical properties and machinability. Since they are castings, castability is important, and since they have excellent castability, the strength of the finished castings tends to be high. Therefore, it is highly reliable and widely distributed. Please refer to the comparison chart for individual characteristics of "AC4A, AC4C, and AC4CH.

JIS for aluminum alloy castings is "JIS H5202: Aluminum alloy castings

There was no good strength table for JIS aluminum alloy castings. Therefore, we have prepared an aluminum alloy casting strength comparison table based on JIS. Furthermore, this information is not in JIS,Excerpts of non-JIS reference data deemed necessary for designThe "K" is woven into the front surface.
