To lighten eDrawings, please do the following
Tools→Options
This is where you change the settings for eDrawings.
Shadow display
Show Shadows Uncheck Show Model Shadows.

Check the box for fastest and do not check the box for best appearance, including reflections.The best look with reflections improves the appearance through reflections, etc., but takes longer to render and slows movement.
